Care and Security.

PenDelfin, like all collectable items are commercially sought after commodities. Older models are especially sought after so are more vulnerable. PenDelfin therefore suggest the following precautions to be taken to ensure your PenDelfin collection is kept safe

  • Do not place models in windowsills or in plain view of passers-by.

  • When away on holiday or extended trips, models of high value should be packed and stored away in safety.

  • Regular photographs should be taken to build up a photographic record of your collection.

  • Endeavour to keep the extent and the value of your collection private and to yourself.

Security however is only half the battle. Due to the texture of the models and the materials they are made with, they are susceptible to damage. These are the following tips PenDelfin suggest to ensure your models are kept well maintained thus safeguarding their value.

  • If you have a particularly large collection, avoid placing models too close together. This will prevent chipping or scratching from occurring.

  • Keep all models out of direct sunlight and away from other direct sources of heat (fires, radiators etc), as this can cause damage to the gloss as well as fade those vibrant colours.

  • Keep all models in a dry environment, away from damp or direct sources of water.

  • Try and regularly dust all models on a regular basis to ensure they stay clean and well maintained.

If you are unfortunate to accidentally damage one of your models or you have a particularly old piece, which could do with some maintenance, the restoration service, which PenDelfin currently offers, could help. Please refer to the FAQ pages for more details.
